Female MP not to attend conference on women in NY in protest to visa ban

Zahra Saei, female representative of Tabriz to Majlis (Parliament), described the anti-Muslim measure taken by the new US President Donald Trump as an open insult to the World of Islam, particularly to the great Iranian nation.

Speaking to IRNA on Monday, Saei expressed her regret over the US measure which according to her is towards supporting terrorism and fanning the flames of extremism worldwide, although the American president claims that the new ban has been imposed to fight against terrorism and protect the American people.

Two Iranian lawmakers were to take part in Women Strategy in Summit which is slated for May 21-22 in New York.

The Women in Strategy Summit is back for its 5th year in New York with new speakers, themes and panel sessions on the issues related to women.
