
In an interview with IRNA, Sartaj Aziz said that the talks on Syria had been suspended since 2012 so the resumption of talks is a good step which will prepare the grounds to bring peace and stability in the country.
Initiated by Iran, Russia and Turkey, the two-day International Meeting on Syrian Settlement in Kazakh capital sought to address the Syrian peace process in a bid to end hostilities in the country and guarantee peace and security there.
Sartaj Aziz also reiterated that Pakistan values its relations with the brotherly Muslim country of Iran, with which “we have fruitful cooperation in diverse areas of common interest.”
Two days back he had meeting with Chairman for the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of Iran, Alaeddin Boroujerdi in which regional situation, bilateral cooperation and promotion of trade and relations between the two countries were discussed.
