Speaking during a meeting in Tehran with Director of Iraqi National Intelligence Service Mustafa Kadhimi, he said that the Western intervention in regional crises has left deadly and costly consequences.
Referring to the continuous victories of the Iraqi Army and popular forces in the fight against Takfiri terrorists and the physical removal of Daesh (the ISIS) from different areas of the country, Shamkhani said that the gradual achievements on the battlefield by the Iraqi nation will cause further anti-security efforts by the terrorists which require more active role of Iraqi intelligence agencies.
He reiterated that Iran is ready to convey its intelligence experiences to Iraq so that the country will be able to properly fight against terrorism.
In the meantime, the director of Iraqi National Intelligence Service hailed Iran's influential role in countering terrorism and boosting regional security and stability.
Mustafa Kadhimi also appreciated the Iranian assistance to the Iraqi government and nation in the fight with terrorist groups.
He called for further intelligence cooperation between the two neighboring countries to uproot terrorism in the region.
