On a Twitter message on Sunday, Saeed Khatibzadeh commented on the use of a fake name for the Persian Gulf on the official account of the Russian Foreign Ministry (in Arabic).

He noted that Iran has officially protested against this issue.

He added: "Through our embassy in Moscow, a protest note has been submitted to the Russian Foreign Ministry."
