Pakistan stresses peaceful solution to Iran-Saudi row through dialog

In an interview with IRNA, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said that Iran and Saudi Arabia are two important members of the Muslim world and it is the desire of Pakistan that the two countries should resolve their issues diplomatically.

“If the two countries cooperate with each other that will be better for the whole Muslim world,” he said.

Chaudhry added that Pakistan hopes that there will be greater peace and harmony in the Muslim world and Pakistan would like to play its part in this regards.

Commenting on Iran-Pakistan relations, the diplomat said that Iran is a neighbor of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan have had a deep cultural imprint from the Iranian culture.

He stressed that Islamabad is determined to maintain its friendly and cordial relations with Tehran.
