Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 19th International Likhachov Scientific Conference themed ‘Growth and Development in World: Problems of Anticipation and Management’ in Saint Petersburg University of humanities and Social Sciences, he referred to the increasing role of the East and decreasing role of the West in the global developments, saying that Iran, Russia, China and Turkey are playing crucial role in development of the international order using structures such as Shanghai Organization, Economic Union of Eurasia and ECO.
Pointing to Iran’s civilizational approach and historic belief in dialogue and interaction, he said that while Iran is the initiator of the idea of dialogue among civilizations as well as resolution against violence and extremism, some countries are moving towards using the instrument of sanctions.
The two-day conference featuring 60 articles are among the most significant conferences on humanities in Russia.
