FM spokesman: Attack on diplomatic sites not justifiable

Qassemi made the remarks in reaction to an open letter to President Hassan Rouhani by a man identified as Hassan Kordmihan who stood trial before the court of justice for provocative acts in front of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran encouraging the young individuals to attack the embassy.

In his open letter to the president, the man defended himself saying that the attack on the embassy did not violate national security.

Legal proceedings are underway against Kordmihan for violation of national security by instigating young individuals to attack the Saudi Embassy.

Qassemi said that Iranian government guaranteed safety of foreign representations in line with the diplomatic immunity of representatives of foreign governments.
