In his message to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Rouhani described the recent elections as indication of Turkish people’s participation in determining their fate and rule of democracy.
He also wished happiness and dignity for Turkish brothers and friends.
On Sunday, people in Turkey cast their votes to elect local officials, including mayors and city council members.
There are 1397 municipality in total 81 Turkish provinces that are mostly affiliated to the ruling party of Justice and Development (AK).
In Turkey Sunday elections, 1,389 nominees participated and mayors of 30 metropolises, 51 provinces, 922 towns and 386 districts will be identified.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi in a message congratulated Turkey, saying that democracy in regional countries is guarantee for the region's independence, security and stability.
