62nd session of UN drugs commission kicks off in Vienna

In the 2-day session on March 14-15, 2019 in Vienna, Iran's Secretary General for Drug Control Department Eskandar Moameni is to explain Iran's actions and demands in the field of fight against narcotics.

Moameni is accompanied with representatives from Drug Control Department, Health and Foreign Ministries.

Iran's Ambassador and permanent representative in international organizations in Vienna Kazem Gharibabadi was elected as first deputy of the commission and head of committee to consider resolutions, at the beginning of the session.

The CND has 53 members from five geographical groups and upgrading international mechanisms to control narcotic drugs, considering all dimensions of drugs either smuggling or consumption and meeting the demands of the international bodies on drug control are among goals of the commission.
