Japan working to increase ties with Tehran: Ambassador

Mitsugu Saito in his meeting with MP Shahab Naderi on Sunday underlined that the US sanctions have created harsh conditions for Japanese companies.

Japan's Ambassador to Tehran affirmed, “Tokyo will continue all its efforts to support and enhance interactions, especially in the economic, agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Saito underlined the success of the recent visit of Iranian Speaker Ali Larijani to Japan stressing the strengthening of trade relations.

Japan's Ambassador to Tehran in another part of his remarks expressed his condolences to the earthquake-stricken Kermanshah province announcing his government’s readiness to transfer experience and technology to cope with the earthquake.

Iranian MP Shahab Naderi, for his part, emphasized on good relations between the two countries, saying that there are good capacities to improve the level of relations between the two sides in different areas, and Iranian Parliament, especially the Iran-Japan parliamentary friendship group, is ready to help facilitate and develope relations in the political, economic, agricultural and pharmaceutical fields between the two countries.

The parliamentarian, appreciating the assistance of the government and the people of Japan to the earthquake-stricken people in Kermanshah province, added, 'Given the location of the two countries in earthquake areas, as well as Japan's scientific and technological progress in predicting earthquakes, scientific exchanges in this regard can reduce disasters and financial and spiritual damages.”

The member of the Economic Commission of the Parliament, in another part of his remark, praised Japan's stance on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and view of the Japanese government about the cruel American sanctions against Iran, which is against international law, and emphasized the continuation of positive relations between the two countries.
