'This summit gives the universities the opportunity to link with the industry. It is hard to get connected to industry under the sanctions, however, we can get in touch with big pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies even in this situation,” said Ali Jafarian, chairman of the seventh World Health Summit Regional Meeting that will be held in the Iranian Persian Gulf Kish Island on April 29-30.
700 people, including 150 international figures, are expected to take part in the two-day event.
Jafarian, ex-rector at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, described the Middle East as a “region involved in crises and wars in which refugees and displacements in countries such as Syria, Iraq and Yemen have negative health consequences.” He stressed that Iran has a regional look and will address regional issues in the upcoming meeting.
