Young Iranian artist wins US Photography award

According to IRNA on Tuesday, Mohammad Baqqal Asghari who took part in the event with the photo collection of “Innocent victims of Family marriages” won “Poy Photography Festival' award which is underway in such categories as of news photos on sports, advertising, multimedia, and editing.

Baqqal Asghari was born in 1995 and has been working as a freelance photographer and journalist with media in East Azarbaijan and Tehran provinces for about seven years.

The POYi International Festival was first held in 1944 with the support of the Missouri State School of Journalism, and annually, around 48,000 works from all over the world are being sent to the festival, which 240 works in 40 sections will eventually be selected.

The festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious press competitions in the world.
