Hussein Zeynali noted that the eighth month of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2018-November 22, 2018) leading to the value of the export of herbs hit $ 300 million.
Arguing that Iran will be the first exporter in the Middle East in the case of allocation of credits, Zeynali said that Iran has a good ability to increase its production and in order to implement this capability, devising a strategic and operational plan is needed, and monitoring the implementation of this program requires credit, but has not yet been allocated.
'Appropriate funding for medicinal plants will allow us to become the first Middle East exporter in the next two years,' he added.
The official in the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad said the medicinal plants were a clear indication of the passive defense in the country, adding, 'According to the program for boosting domestic production, the next year, the import of medicinal plants (raw or processed) will be under scrutiny, unless that there is no production of this medicinal product inside the country, and this has been announced to the pharmaceutical factories and large industrial units for the processing of agricultural products and medicinal plants, in order to operate the 'contract farming' program.
