The 17th Asian Cup tournament will begin on Saturday with the participation of 24 teams and hosted by the UAE.
Accordingly, the Asian Football Confederation’s Referee Committee announced that Ryoji Sato, Japan's referee, will be the referee of the match between Iran and Yemen.
The referee has had a history of judging many of the Iranian national teams, including a match against Syria, the UAE and South Korea in various stages of the 2014 and 2018 World Cups qualifications.
The first match of the Iranian national team against Yemen in the Asian Cup will be held in 19:30 local time on Monday. Iraq and Vietnam are other cohorts of Iran in the Asian event.
