In the message, Rouhani on behalf of the Iranian nation and government expressed condolences to the Indonesian government and people.

The president also expressed sympathy with the bereaved Indonesian nation and government over the plane crash.

A Lion Air passenger plane that took off Monday from Jakarta crashed into the sea with 189 people on board; all passengers and crew on broad were killed.
