'Iran's Defense Ministry is a member of the country's National Committee of Humanitarian Law, and through the committee it is cooperating with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in relief activities, including demining operations,' Brigadier General Amir Hatami said, addressing the 4th International Committee of Military Medicine in Tehran.
The world has been witnessing Iran's goodwill in the face of all the fabricated nuclear crises, he said.
The country has adopted a policy of restraint in the face of the non-commitment of the US, the General added.
'The Americans have sanctioned us with inhumane measures that are against the humanitarian law only because we seek to preserve our sovereignty and freedom,' the Iranian defense minister said, stressing that Washington, by following a policy of economic terrorism, is hindering countries from receiving necessary medicines and providing their basic needs.
Touching on the losses inflicted on Iran during the Iraqi eight-year imposed war, General Hatami said that 'During the years of war, the former regime of Saddam attacked Iran more than 570 times, but the international organizations did not convene even one meeting to condemn those attacks.'
Genocide and killing children should be seriously confronted all across the world, and the war-crimes victims, particularly in Yemen, should be helped out of the dire situation, the Iranian minister said.
He called on the world nations to make allegiance to try to eliminate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and respect the humanitarian law.
'The world is witnessing some states violating laws, without any concern for the world security, and breaching global norms with the pretext of protecting their own national interests,' he said.
'Humankind should get united to address part of the sufferings; Countries that are trying to beat the war drums and do not hesitate to use unconventional and banned weapons,' he said.
'The rogue countries in the world should not be allowed to lead countries toward more wars,' he added.
