French embassy in Tehran wrote Sunday on its official account on Twitter that following the attack on the Iranian mission in Paris on Friday (Sept 23), police took action the same day and interrogated the 12 people who were demonstrating in front of the Iranian embassy.
Considering France's responsibility to protect diplomatic sites and with the approval of the Iranian embassy, appropriate steps have been taken to strengthen the security of the Iranian mission, the tweet read.
Following the attack on the embassy building of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Paris, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said the attackers who were affiliated with a terrorist group intended to do an act of aggression and damaged the embassy building but they did not managed to enter the building, hence their efforts proved futile.
He said due to the tardy arrival of Paris police, the individuals threw objects at the embassy and caused damages.
Qasemi said some suspects have been arrested and Iran has asked the French government to prosecute and punish them.
