Iran is the safest country in the region for foreign tourists and the country with its diverse cultural heritage and natural attractions has the potential to be a good destination for Japanese tourists, Morteza Rahmani-Movahed said on Thursday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the President of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Satoshi Seino.

The Iranian envoy called for development of all-out ties with Japan on the occasion of 90th anniversary of two countries' diplomatic relations.

Iran is keen to use Japan experience in tourism field, Rahmani-Movahed noted.
