Dragan Todorovic told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) he believes that culture is the “prerequisite” for everything.
“If countries find a correct understanding of each other’s cultures, then they will be able to talk about politics, sports and economy much better, Todotrovic said.
Fortunately, he said, Iran and Serbia are two friendly countries with good cultural relations.
Serbia had been invited as special guest in Tehran International Book Fair and two Serbian books have recently been translated into Persian language, he noted.
More than one hundred of the Persian books were also translated into Serbian language, Todorovic added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Serbian envoy said that the Iranian movies are highly welcomed in Serbia and the Serbian Film Festival is being held in Iran on an annual basis.
He added that the Iranian film 'No Date, No Sign' received the best film award in the Serbian FEST film festival.
FEST is an annual film festival held in Belgrade, Serbia since 1971. The festival is usually held in the first quarter of the year.
Todorovic went on to say that the Iranian and Serbian ministers of culture have signed an agreement on making joint movies.
The Iranian cinema has exported the country’s culture, Todorovic said adding that Iranian works are very popular not only in Serbia but in the entire Europe.
The Iranian people have always attempted for establishing peace and friendship, he said.
Iran has never been a warmonger and has not supported terrorism at all, he added.
Unlike, media propaganda, Iran has always been targeted by terrorism, said the Serbian ambassasor.
