Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi strongly condemned the cold-blood murders and said that such attacks on the religious sites and sacred places are shameful.
Qassemi expressed condolence to the Iraqi nation and government and sympathized with the families who lost their loved ones in the heinous crime perpetrated by Saudi-backed Takfiri groups.
The spokesman called on the international community to take collective action to stop the insane acts of the Takfiri terrorists.
On Friday morning, Daesh terrorists carried terrorist attack at shrine of Seyyed Muhammad at Iraqi town of Balad on suburbs of Samarra.
Doctors of the hospital said that 35 pilgrims and the residents in the area died and 65 were wounded.
Police said that two terrorists clashed with police around the shrine and blew themselves up and a third terrorist blew himself up among the pilgrims inside the shrine.
