Majid Mosahebi said the festival's topics are mainly focused on the sufferings of human beings.
He added that the world without borders, eliminating poverty and hunger, asylum-related damage, forgotten victims, human and the environment, women in opposition to traditional societies and modernity, the damages caused by the war, poverty of water, children and world catastrophe are among the main topics of the festival.
Mosahebi underlined that the festival is slated to be held on Weimar, Germany from September 28 to October 2, 2018.
'So far 2,700 films from 122 countries have been submitted to the secretariat of the festival,' he added.
Describing the participation of Iranian filmmakers in festival as 'excellent', Mosahebi said that Iran ranked fifth among 122 countries in terms of film submission.
He added that the city of Weimar is the cultural capital of Europe and enjoys a brilliant record in cultural activities and world - acclaimed German personalities. including Goethe, Nietzsche and Bach have lived in this city.
Due to its international presence, the festival does not have a direct impact on the cinema of Iran or a particular country, he said, adding that the event introduces the freelance filmmakers from all over the world.
The humanitarian film festivals are very popular in Europe, he said, adding that this cinematic event aims to introduce the African, East Asian, the American and Australian countries.
' I hope that each of us will have an impact on boosting the quality of life and respect our common earth,' Mosahebi concluded.
According to ICN, the first film festival of 'ASA' was held in Iran and Swiss in collaboration with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), United Nations Development Programme, and the World Red Cross.
