MPs offer condolences on Kiarostami's death

Majlis cultural commission issued a statement to express condolence on demise of Kiarostami and called him as an asset for Iranian arts community.
Head of Majlis cultural commission Nasrallah Pejmanfar in a separate message offered his condolences to Iran's art and cultural community as well as family of Kiarostami and prayed to God to bestow peace upon his soul.
MP Mohammad Reza Aref, the head of parliamentary fraction of Hope and Prudence paid tribute to the great film director.
Deputies Fatemeh Zolqadr, Parvaneh Salahshouri and Tayyebeh Siavoshi Shah Enayati, members of Majlis cultural commission, in their messages called the last voyage of Kiarostami 'Bitter Taste', saying that Iran's art and cinema community lost one of its renowned and great members.
Another member of cultural commission of Majlis Ahmad Mazani wrote in his message that there is no doubt that great efforts of 'this dear artist' will remain in cinema history forever.
Member of Majlis commission on development Abdol Karim Hosseinzadeh said in his message that Kiarostami was a reflection of world art with his Iranian identity.
'We do not remember when and where we celebrated his birthday and whether we respected his art as much as he deserved? the MP wrote in grief.
Abbas Kiarostami died in a Paris hospital on Monday July 4 at age of 76.
Chairman of Tajikistan Cinema Union Safar Haqdad in a message called demise of Kiarostami as a great loss for world cinema community and condoled with family and Iranian nation.
He wrote Tajik movie makers and film artists all knew Kiarostami very well and they try to see his movies to learn from.
Kiarostami, movie director was an artist in the fields of photography, music, graphic, painting, design and a poet.
