In a statement released on Saturday, the Russian ministry said that monitoring systems in the airbase detected a drone heading towards the base after being launched from an area controlled by terrorist organizations in the north of Lattakia province.

The statement said that the Russian air defense intercepted the drone and destroyed it from a distance, adding that the incident did not result in any injuries or damage, and the airbase is operating normally.
