German academic urges co-op with Iran on cognitive sciences

Michael Pauen, head of the School of Mind and Brain, in a meeting with secretary of Iran's Cognitive Science and Technology Council (CSTC), Kamal Kharrazi, called for more educational cooperation between Iran and Germany's cognitive centers.

Cooperation will boost the scientific cooperation between the research institutes of the two countries in cognitive fields, he said.

The Iranian official who was visiting the center, on his part, echoed the German academic on the necessity of scientific cooperation adding that one step toward the goal is to hold joint educational programs and exchange research teams.

Kharrazi and a number of CSTC members are in Germany to attend an EU conference on neurology.

The Berlin School of Mind and Brain is a graduate institution of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, in collaboration with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin that focuses on the interace between the humanities and behavioral sciences with the neurosciences.
