Major cleric slams American style of human rights

During the period, the US puppets conducted a number of terrorist operations including an assaination attempt on the Supreme leader, explosion of the Islamic Republic Party Central Office in Tehran and martyrdom of some 72 officials of the country including Ayatollah Mohammad Hossein Beheshti, he said.

Chemical bombardment of Sardasht, martyrdom of Ayatollah Sadooghi in Yazd and downing of Iranian passenger plane by US navy are among other crimes of the Americans during the period, Ayatollah Khatami said.

The US had a finger in all these incidents directly or indirectly and this is why the Americans should be ashamed of these crimes and avoid introducing themselves as advocate of human rights, he said.

Americans chant slogans in support of human rights, but they violate it through crimes and atrocities, the ayatollah said, adding that they even chant slogans in fight against and condemnation of terrorism, but they fully back the worst type of state-terrorism i.e. the Zionist regime.

The world should understand that Americans are the forerunners of violation of human rights in the world, he said.

Referring to the crimes of Daesh Takfiri terrorist group, he said all people in the world are well aware that these Takfiri groups were created by the US, European Union and Britain in support of the Zionist regime.

'If they stop their support for these terrorists, they will be washed out in no time,' he said.

The Islamic Iran warned the states backing these Takfiri groups several times and said they were growing a snake up their own sleeves which once will bite them, he said.

Several times, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and other Iranian officials send messages to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to stop supporting Daesh Takfiri group and avoid selling their oil or setting up offices and border markets for them, he said.

Once again we underline that they should stop backing terrorist groups, he said.

Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Khatami said it seems that Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are now carrying out a mission dictated by the Zionists.

Saudi Arabia is now savagely bombarding Muslims in an Islamic country and bars Iranian pilgrims from Hajj rituals, he said.

The incident in Mina last year proved that Al-Saud is incapable to administer the holy shrines and the management of Hajj rituals should be taken from them, he said.

He also warned Bahrain kingdom that they will experience the same destiny of the former Iranian king.
