Mahmoud Abbasi made the remarks in a meeting with a Swiss delegation headed by the country’s deputy justice minister Bernardo Stadelmann.
Unlike its long-standing enemy which violates international commitments and withdraws from international conventions and organizations, Iran is willing to promote cooperation in the field of human rights, he said.
Stadelmann, for his part, hailed Iran’s efforts to promote human rights, saying that grounds are prepared for cooperation between the two countries in legal field.
They also discussed avenues for boosting of legal and judicial cooperation and talks on human rights between the two countries.
Cooperation in extraditing offenders, citizen rights clinics, promoting children’s rights by signing legal and judicial memoranda of understanding and collaboration in training in the field of intellectual ownership were among other topics discussed during the session.
