Zionist regime must not have impunity for its crimes: Iran

Ale Habib made the remarks during an emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly to vote for a resolution proposed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab Leagues against the recent crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza Stip.

'We voted in favor of the resolution because the international community should stand by the Palestinian people and condemn the massacre of Palestinians by the Zionist regime,' the Iranian ambassador said.

He said that among the dead Palestinians there was a young physician wearing medical uniform, such crimes should not be allowed to be justified by any excuse.

The occupying forces must not be allowed to commit crimes while enjoying full impunity, he said, adding that the siege of Gaza which has turned it into the world's largest prison must come to an end so that the Palestinians can have an independent state with Quds as its capital.

By opposing the proposed resolution, the United States once again showed that it does not comply with any international regulations or human rights laws when it comes to the Zionist regime and only thinks about this regime, the Iranian ambassador said.

The UN General Assembly showed once again Wednesday evening that the US policies on the Middle East are all wrong and against the demand of the majority of countries of the world.

Member States of the United Nations General Assembly in their Wednesday Afternoon session unanimously condemned the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian citizens.

Some 120 countries voted in favor of the resolution condemning the Zionist regime's illegal acts in the occupied lands and continuation of its occupation.

Only four countries including the United Sates and the Zionist regime voted against the resolution while 45 countries abstained.
