'The World Health Assembly is the decision-making body of WHO. It is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board,' wrote WHO official website.
The main functions of the World Health Assembly are to determine the policies of the Organization, supervise financial policies, and review and approve the proposed program budget.
The other issue to be discussed in the meeting is the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, International Health Regulations, and facilitation of life for the people with disabilities.
Hashemi will address the audience about the experiences of Iran in preventing AIDS. He will also attend a side meeting on social participation in achieving public health.
He is also going to have numerous meetings with health ministers of different countries.
