Islam addressing both public, private issues of human life: official

Despite some arguments regarding Islam as a religion best suit for worshipers, and not good for a civil life, it should be noted that Islam encompasses both private and public aspects of human life, Larijani said on Monday in a ceremony held to commemorate those martyred in the 1981 bombing of the Iran Islamic Republic Party headquarters in Tehran.

The Islamic Revolution, as a phenomenal and historical event, brought about two significant experiences; an Islamic political establishment and the Islamic awakening movement, he said.

The 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran brought with itself an Islamic political and civil establishment, a system created in the country based on the Islamic orders and laws, he said.

But the Islamic awakening movement, as the second experience, unlike the first one, is not confined to a single country and it encompasses all the Islamic nations across the world, Larijani said.

Islam does not solely belong to Arabs or non-Arabs, Islam is not a religion tied up with the color of skin, race or the like, he said.

Such demarcations tend to be null and void in Islam, he said.

Islam is a thriving religion, the official added.
