Leader attends Imam Ali's martyrdom mourning ceremony in Tehran

The mourning ceremony was held in Imam Khomeini Mosque at the Supreme Leader's residential compound, concurrent with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS).

The mourners participated in the ceremony at the presence of Ayatollah Khamenei.

Millions of people in Iran marked the anniversary of the martyrdom of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS), who passed away on the 21st day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan around 14 centuries ago.

Mourners from different social backgrounds and age groups converged in mosques, places of worship and religious sites across the country today to attend the Shia mourning rituals.
