
In a meeting with Swiss Secretary General of Education, Research and Innovation Ministry Umber Jio, he hailed Iran’s rich medical history, saying that currently Iran enjoys a significant status in medical sciences as every province is home to at least one medical university.
At present, some 190,000 medical students are studying in various medical courses, he said, noting that the number of students in post-graduate level has increased remarkably.
Given Iran’s extensive research in the field of pharmaceuticals, it can have cooperation with Switzerland in this area, he said
The Swiss official, for his part, hailed Iran’s achievements in the field of health and training manpower, saying that cooperation between the Iranian and Swiss universities is of high significance.
Voicing his country’s interest in promoting cooperation in the fields of science, education and research with Iran, he called for exchange of experience and information between the two countries in the field of medical education and health.
