He became the secretary general of the forum in January 1, 2018 and this is his first visit to Iran.
Mohammad Hossein Adeli from Iran was secretary general of GECF for past four years.
Countries like Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates are the 12 main members of GECF.
Norway, the Netherlands, Iraq, Oman, Peru and Azerbaijan Republic have observer status.
Members of the forum produce 44 percent of world gas and owned 67 percent of gas resources in the world.
