Iran attends Int’l Silk Road meeting in Turkmenistan

The event was held with the attendance of delegations from 20 countries.

Holding meeting with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, participating in the inauguration ceremony of Türkmenbaşy international port and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Road Ministers meeting are on Abbas Akhundi’d itinerary.

According to Berdimuhamedow the event is aimed to revive Silk Road, reviewing and identifying policies related to transportation corridor, regional transit and inaugurating Türkmenbaşy port.

The Turkmenbashi International Seaport is the main passenger harbour and cargo port in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. It is located in the eastern part of the Caspian Sea. Regular lines serve routes to Baku, Aktau and Astrakhan.
