
The Islamic Republic of Iran has capacity to export 500 million dollars to Kenya, Morteza Deylan said in a forum held on Iran's economic opportunities in Kenya and South Africa.
The envoy described the banking problem as a major obstacle in the way of promotion of the two countries' volume of trade exchanges.
He said that during last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2018), Iran exported $ 200 million of commodities and technical services to this African country which is a gateway for Iran to East Africa.
Iran’s exports to Kenya mainly include bitumen, semi-prepared dough, paraffin, fermented black tea, industrial oils and urea and Imports include pineapple juice, rose saplings, soda and vehicles, the envoy added.
Deylan had said in 2017 that some 30 Iranian companies have been exporting goods and services to Kenya.
