Mild quake shakes SE Iran

The 4-magnitude tremor caused no casualties or damage, according to head of the crisis management of Kerman governorate general Majid Saeedi.

The Seismology Center of Tehran University said the tremor occurred at 22:06 hours local time (17:36 GMT) Thursday at 29.11 degrees northern latitude and 55.89 degrees eastern altitude at the depth of 28 kilometers.

Sirjan is located 170 kilometers southwest of the city of Kerman.
Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
