
Speaking to Islamic Republic News Agency here Wednesday, Nasser Behzad said 650 companies from various countries are participating in the confab, 10 percent of which are Iranian firms.
The negotiations are underway between Tehran and Baghdad on contribution of Iranian firms to the reconstruction of Iraq and the Iranian private sector is ready to have a strong presence in the developmental and reconstruction projects in Iraq, he said.
The aim of the one-day seminar is to introduce various aspects of investments, transfer of experiences gained by other countries in the field and consultations with participating companies on suitable models of investment in infrastructural projects in Iraq, Behzad said.
Besides some Iraqi ministers and economic officials and activists, companies from some Arab and foreign countries as well as regional and international financial institutions are participating in the event, the Iranian economic attaché said.
