Iran Deputy FM underlines expansion of Iran-Norway ties

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Norwegian Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Fisheries, Rouy Anjulik late Friday.

Araqchi is currently in Oslo at the invitation of his Norwegian counterpart to attend the eighth round of political consultations between the two countries.

Referring to long-standing cooperation and relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of oil, gas and fisheries, Araqchi stressed the need for establishing joint committees for promoting strategic cooperation and accessing suitable banking and financial mechanisms on the basis of mutual interests.

Anjulik, for his part, said that Norway enjoys good experience, capabilities and financial and technical capacities for investment in Iran.

Norwegian companies are interested in coming to Iran’s big market, as most of them have taken measures to reopen their offices in Tehran, he said.

Stressing the need for adoption of financial and banking policies, he said that Norway is determined to continue cooperation with Iran.

Meanwhile, Araqchi discussed bilateral cooperation, the 2015 nuclear deal, known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and regional development in a meeting with the Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Eden Halursen.
