North Korea expresses support for Iran nuclear deal

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea reiterated on Tuesday that the landmark international nuclear deal between Tehran and P5+1 group of nations should be respected and that Pyongyang is fully supportive of the agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Threats made by US President Donald Trump suggesting that the US will scrap the Iran deal, are wrong, Yonhap News Agency quoted the North Korean newspaper as saying.

'Iran is receiving full support from its people as Tehran is building up its defense capabilities without being disturbed,' it added, while highlighting 45 years of very good relations between Iran and North Korea.

The North Korean newspaper also supported Iran's defensive missile program, saying it is not against the JCPOA.

Iran is developing its missile programs without giving in to outside pressure as they are not constrained by its nuclear deal, the North Korean newspaper said.
