Referring to his last year’s visit to Tehran, Hussein Yayman told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), “Our aim is to have a more stable and better cultural relations with Iran.”
'Tehran and Ankara have always been hand in hand, they have been enjoying brotherly relations and they have been together due to their cultural commonalities and geographical proximity.'
Commenting on the solution to turn the flow of tourists that is mainly from Iran to Turkey into a two-way trade, he said, “What Iran lacks is the proper advertisement on its tourist attractions and capabilities.”
He said that nobody in Turkey knows much about the capacities; what the Turkish people know is limited to a few symbols and monuments of Iran's big cities, such as Tehran.
The Turkish official urged Iran to be more active in introducing its tourist attractions, and invited the respective Iranian officials to engage more with their Turkish counterparts.
“Iranian people who come to Turkey each year as tourists can also partly play the role to promote their country's capacities and capabilities in tourism sector,” he said.
Turkey held its third edition of Travel Expo Ankara to promote its tourism sector from March 22-25. The event, featured by gastronomy culture of the country, hosted scores of participants from 20 countries of the world as well as Turkish provinces.
Cultural attaché office of Iran’s embassy in Ankara presented an overview of the country’s tourist attractions, including its handcrafts and traditional rituals of Norouz, to the visitors of the exhibition.
