Italian Envoy: Using clean energy power plant indicates attention to environment

He made the remarks in opening ceremony of 10 megawatts solar energy power plant in Qeshm Island.

Conchatori said that Italy has close cooperation with Hormozgan province and Qeshm Island in the fields of steel and electronics.

He said the power plant project is a symbolic move in Iran, Italy friendship with hope to be expanded.

Managing Director of the power plant Stephano Falconio said in the ceremony that the project took 2 years to be launched and by 8 million euro investment and it supplies annual needs of 5000 households.

In this project 100 technicians and experts worked and 25 kilometers aluminum cables, 200 kilometers solar cables and 30 thousand solar panels were used and installed, Falconio said.

Qeshm township, including Qeshm, Hormoz, Hengam and Larak Islands with population of 150,000 located in south of Hormozgan province.
