First ever int'l Iraqi movie to go on screen

Director Mohamed Al-Daradji made Al-Rihla that was made after a 27-year silence of the Iraqi cinema.

The actors and the actresses of the movie are Ameer Jbara, Zahraa Ghandour, Huda Abd Alameer, Hadeer Abd Alameer, Ali Al-Khassaf, and Iamen Laeibi.

England, France, and the Netherlands cooperated in the production of the movie.

The movie is called to be the first Iraqi movie by some media, due to the fact that it narrates the story of death and life in the atmosphere of war and terrorism.

Some other movies were made before The Journey, including Al-Daradji's own Son of Babylon the War (2003), No. 438 (2003), Ahlaam (2005), Son of Babylon (2009), War, Love, God, & Madness (2008), In my Mother's Arms (2011), In the Sands of Babylon (2013).
