Kiarostami photos displayed in Louvre in Tehran

He told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that for the first time an exhibition of late Abbas Kiarostami photos from Louvre Museum will be displayed simultaneously with displaying Louvre Museum works in Tehran.

'When we were negotiating with Louver officials, it was due that works of several world well-known photographers from Louver to be displayed in Iran and the officials proposed that a well-known Iranian artist had good pictures from Louver, who was late Kiarostami,' Nokande added.

Both French and we contacted with Kiarostami family to get permission for the work and it was welcomed.

Nokande underlined during holding the exhibition an especial program will be allocated to commemorate the late artist and his family will be tribute in the program.

Kiarostami took these photos during his several visits to Louvre Museum from 1996 to 2012.
Louver Exhibition in Tehran is to be held from March 5 to June 8, 2018 in the venue of Iran National Museum in Tehran.

Abbas Kiarostami (1939-2016) was director, scenarist, film editor, photographer, producer, graphic designer, poet and painter.

He was an influential world filmmaker and his works usually faces with big welcome of critics, juries, directors, festivals and art foundations.

His works were candidate for five times in Cannes Film Festival Golden Palm and in 1997 received the award and for four times was member of juries of the festival.
