President urges cooperation of parliament to advance administrative agenda

Speaking after a meeting of the heads of the three branches of government, the president expressed hope for parliament's cooperation to fulfill the promises for which the people have voted for.'

Rouhani called on the media to help boost the atmosphere of hope in the society and not to magnify minor shortcomings.

Noting that some ministries, such as Petroleum Ministry, shoulder a heavier responsibility in the post-sanctions era, the president said that during today's session, Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh briefed the heads of the three branches of government on the measures taken by the ministry after the sanctions were lifted in January 2015.

Rouhani said that during the meeting the Sixth Five-Year Economic, Social and Cultural Development Plan proposed by the government was also discussed.
He expressed hope that the five-year development plan will be approved by the Parliament soon.
