Mexico and Iran have friendly and growing ties, Teofilo Torres Corzo, Chairman of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee for Asia Pacific, said in a meeting held on Wednesday with Iran's Ambassador to Mexico City Mohammad-Taqi Hosseini.
He further pointed to the important role Iran plays in stabilizing the region and the world.
Corzo added that his country is strongly after the issue of multilateralism and also the talks on solving the international disputes.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, said there are many opportunities for fostering ties between Tehran and Mexico City.
About the international questions, Hosseini said that the interactions in the world are based on 'multilateralism' which is now threatened by certain powers.
He added that Iran and Mexico can play a leading role to promote multilateralism.
The two countries can also broaden bilateral cooperation in the international arenas in order to make the world more secure, he concluded.
