Iran arrests ringleader of biggest drug trafficking gang

He said that operational units of police due to their round-the-clock and intelligence knowledge succeeded to recognize and arrest the ringleader of the gang.

After months of vast intelligence works, the venue of the gang leader was recognized by police and yesterday in a surprised operation he was arrested in his hide-out.

The colonel said that the drug ringleader was one of the main ringleaders of drug trafficking, which transfered narcotics from the neighboring countries to Iran and other countries and in recent years played role in transferring more than 20 tons of drugs.

Sistan and Balochestan has more than 1100 kilometers land borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan and 310 kilometers marine border in Oman Sea.
