Iran's Leader: Iraq should be careful with US guile

'The Americans themselves created Daesh; Now that the terrorist group has been defeated by the Iraqi people and government, they show themselves in line with the big development; and of course, they will use every chance they get to harm Iraq,' said Ayatollah Khamenei in a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi in Tehran.

Supporting the Iraqi Government's attempts to safeguard the countries unity and territorial integrity, he said that Iraq is an important country in the Arab World.

Ayatollah Khamenei also supported the all-out expansion of ties between Iran and Iraq, and told the Iraqi prime minister, 'The region's people pay careful attention to Iraq's achievements, and that's due to attempts and braveries of you, Iraqi people and authorities.'

In the meeting, also attended by the Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, al-Abadi said, 'We meticulously take care of Iraq's unity, and as we have already told our brothers in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, we will not allow disintegration to threaten Iraq.'

Al-Abadi thanked Iran for supporting Iraq in fighting terrorism, and said, 'We eagerly try to expand relations with Iran.'
