MP: Trump's anti-Iran measures not working

Head of Iran-Britain Parliamentary Friendship Group Mostafa Kavakebian made the remarks Wednesday on the sidelines of the 137th Inter-Parliamentary Union Meeting in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

In his meeting with heads of UK, Japan, Australia and Ethiopia delegations, Kavakebian said If Trumps is able to convince US Congress with his guidelines, no country has to follow these requests.

He urged other sides to develop bilateral political, cultural, economic and educational relations and to take common positions on IPU final resolution and choosing its new chairman.

Iran nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an international agreement, he said.

He went on to say that not only all signatories should stay committed to JCPOA but the UN Security Council also made all countries committed to the deal.

He urged all countries to take common and firm positions as regard terrorist group Daesh.

Unilateralism of the arrogant powers on democracy, human rights, terrorism, security, preserving territorial integrity and countries' independence is so dangerous, he said.

Meanwhile, the Australian MP called for promoting bilateral relations, especially in agriculture and educational fields.
