Iran is the 'most promising emerging market,' according to international studies, Mohammad Nahavandian said at Iran-Iraq business forum kicked off in Tehran this morning.
Referring to US President Donald Trump's anti-Iran remarks made on Friday, Nahavandian said his words proved that Iran has been successful in the nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Today, Nahavandian stressed, we are witnessing a 'distance between the US and its previous European allies.'
Trump on Friday took a new strategy toward Iran and decertified Tehran's commitment with the 2015 landmark nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). His approach has been criticized by many countries, international bodies, political communities and world media.
Referring to relations between Tehran and Baghdad, the Iranian official stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of science, technology and commerce between Iran and Iraq.
He also called on the Iranian and Iraqi engineers to jointly launch large infrastructure companies which will help foster bilateral relations.
Nahavandian further referred to the banking issues as the main obstacle to Iran-Iraq trade cooperation, while Tehran has turned into the second trade partner for Baghdad.
He then called on the two sides to move towards Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) or even free trade.
Today, he added, Iran has taken key steps towards developing its banking ties with some of its neighbors and some European countries as well.
Nahavandian and senior advisor to the Iraqi prime minister as well as other senior economic officials from Iran and Iraq attended the two-day event underway in the Iran International Conference Center in Tehran.
