Asadollah Darvish-Amiri told a session with foreign investors on Sunday that the measure taken by Global Green Energy Company to promote the know-how in recycling garbage across the world is praiseworthy.
'With the arrival of the British company, Zanjan province’s problem in the field of urban waste will be solved,' he said, adding that launching the recycling factory will not only play an effective role in management of waste but it is also considered an effective step in protecting the environment.
The deal reached in the form of BOT will prepare the ground for the arrival of a capital to the tune of 4,000 billion rials to the province, Darvish-Amiri said.
Meanwhile managing director of the British company, Din Pradovich, told the same meeting that the firm has always been seeking to find new methods for recycling all types of waste and modernizing relevant technologies.
Under the project to be launched in Zanjan, waste will first be turned into fuels and then they will be transformed to electric energy, he said.
Describing investment in Iran and Zanjan as economically efficient, he said that the company aims to utilize waste, employ local workforce and cooperate in preserving the environment.
Provincial officials maintain that the project hosted by Zanjan is Iran’s first experience in the field of generating electric energy from waste.
