Cooperation, friendship with neighbors Iran's priority: Envoy

Sajjadi made the remarks on the sidelines of inauguration ceremony of Iran’s Economic Exhibition in Yerevan on Friday which was participated with 50 Iranian companies.

A number of Iranian and Armenian officials also attended the ceremony which will continue until Monday (September 25).

The Iranian ambassador told reporters that Iran is a huge country in the Middle East whose capabilities in the economic and commercial fields have been proved to the world.

Contending that one of the main priorities of Iran's 12th government is to communicate with its neighbors and promote economic and trade relations, Sajjadi said that the Iranian and Armenian producers can establish joint factories and export industrial products to the world markets.

Such exhibitions will make the Iranian and Armenian tradesmen further acquainted with each other, he said, noting that they will encourage producers to invest in both countries in a bid to prevent capital and manpower influx to Western states.

Congratulating 26th anniversary of independence of Armenia, Sajjadi also said that Iranian and Armenian nations have lived together peacefully since the ancient times and will do so in the future.

He also called on the Armenian officials to focus on health tourism, Hala food market, and reconstructing infrastructures of North-South Corridor as programs which would further improve communications with Iran and boost mutual trade.
